Live easy.
America’s loft revolution began in the 1950s when many artists and
residents decided to convert vacant “downtown” industrial and
warehouse buildings into spacious living and work spaces.
The Hawkeye Center pays tribute to a landmark, early 1900s-era
building that stood as the cornerstone of Orange City’s main street
for decades. Following its destruction in the summer of 2008, the
Hawkeye Center is rising from the ashes, offering residents a chance
at a new style of loft living in the heart of the community.
Live connected.
Main street lofts place you within close proximity to shopping,
Windmill park, the public library, and all the downtown events and
celebrations including Tulip Festival.
Live the good life.
The loft condos in the new Hawkeye Center offer distinctive style and
incredible comfort to accommodate any lifestyle – whether you seek an
active community setting or simple downtown convenience and easy
upkeep. A relaxed, open floor plan and luxury furnishings offer a
true urban loft style in the heart of small town America. One and two
bedroom condos include a fully equipped kitchen, quality floorings
and fixtures, ample storage, and much more. Each condo offers two
underground parking spots, easily accessed from First Street.
Live the vision.
The Phoenix Project is a vision that rose from the ashes of a fire
that destroyed the historic Hawkeye Building in downtown Orange City
in the summer of 2008. Following the purchase of
the vacated lot by the Development Corporation, a task force put
together a comprehensive plan designed to revitalize Main Street by
developing unique and attractive retail and residential
opportunities in that location – as well as develop a 300-400
capacity Event Center and assist in the funding of a new 700 capacity
Performing Arts Center on the city’s perimeter.
This voter-approved project is designed to propel the community
forward as a true “destination” for residents, visitors, tourists,
the arts and entertainment, education, and business/industry.
